Social Media Marketing and Reputation Management Best Practices for Business

Smokey & The Bandit Car Chase

It’s a classic element in so many movies: The Car Chase.

Everyone has a few favorites that come to mind, and certainly there’s lots of room for debate and discussion about what the top 10 are and why.

Personally, I prefer car chases with a twist: The recent movie “Date Night” offers a new twist to the classic car chase, that I’ll just nickname: DoubleTrouble.

It gets interesting when Car #1 – the good guys - being chased by Car#3 – the bad guys - crashes head to head into parked Car#2 (the blissfully uninvolved guy), and their bumpers get “lip-locked.” From then on, it’s Cars# 1 and #2 lip-locked and hotly pursued by Car# 3. You should see them take those corners!

Here’s the trailer. You get just a glimpse of the chase at the end. You’ll have to see the whole movie to really get a kick out of this! http://www.metacafe.com/watch/3819765/date_night_movie_trailer/

An old favorite, “Romancing The Stone” has two great car chases, culminating in our heroes and their car going over a waterfall. See it in this trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WokoWHHAxp4

My third personal favorite is Smokey and the Bandit. The whole movie is a car chase. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UACtATttjEk

But enough about my personal favorites. What are yours? Here’s a site where you can see videos of some of the classics. http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/news/vintage-speed/4270411

Here’s another critic’s pick: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6091432/

Submit your favorite 3 car chases in the comment section below and let’s see if we can’t get a consensus going.
